Th{eros} was founded in 2020 by Konstantinos Manouras with the vision of highlighting the potential of Cretan vineyards and indigenous grape varieties.
"Our mission focuses on reviving and promoting rare and forgotten varieties of Crete, which have shaped the island's winemaking heritage."
The founder has an interesting past: he grew up in the vineyards with his grandfather, helping with the harvest, studied fine arts and worked abroad, returned and worked as a graphic designer and then as a tattoo artist before devoting himself to winemaking.
Winemaking practices are based on low-intervention protocols, combined with advanced techniques that allow the wine to develop depth and longevity.
The winery works with indigenous Cretan varieties such as Plyto and Thrapsathiri, as well as Mandilaria. It also produces Pluto Thrapsathiri, a rare blend of two very different indigenous Cretan varieties, with a pale straw color and golden highlights. The main aromatic characteristics include citrus blossoms, pears, and aromatic herbs.
