WINE TASTING

Explore the art of wine tasting at AVLI

Each private wine tasting that we organize is conducted by a certified Sommelier and is aimed at a relatively small number of people.
Our goal is to provide the services we offer at a high level so that the experience is unforgettable.

CRETAN WINES

In this wine tasting we will discover the historic vineyard of Crete,
which for about 3500 years has continuously produced wines of many different styles.

5 Cretan wines

This wine flight consists of four (4) dry wines and one (1) dessert wine made from the most important Cretan varieties and of course the best producers. (40ml/glass)

You will have the opportunity to taste and learn about: Thrapsathiri, Vidiano, Liatiko, Kotsifali and Romeiko varieties

This wine flight consists of seven (7) dry wines and one (1) dessert wine all made from the most important Cretan varieties and of course the best producers. (40ml/glass)

You will have the opportunity to taste and learn about: Malvasia di Candia aromatica, Vidiano, Dafni, Liatiko, Kotsifali, Mandilari and Romeiko varieties

We can provide a wine tasting event where we will discover unique and high-quality Greek wines, from the most important native or indigenous varieties, from rare vintages and of course from the best producers. The content of this event can be tailor-made. Contact us and we will gladly arrange it for you.

Food & Wine pairing experiences
guided by our Sommelier

We have designed some food and wine-pairing menus aiming at your utter delight.
Original Greek and Cretan flavours paint a clear image of the gastronomic orientation to a new era.
The dishes are paired with 5 exceptional wines from the Cretan or rest of Greece vinery, which perfectly outline the contemporary Greek wine scene.
Our tasting menus showcase the importance of harmoniously pairing food and wine and with the guidance of our expert Sommelier we offer a complete culinary experience.

FOOD AND WINE PAIRING

Wine and food tasting will include: Tasting of five (5) courses including one (1) dessert – all of these dishes will be harmoniously paired with a 75ml glass of wine (or 40ml glass dessert wine). This culinary journey will take place under the guidance of an experienced wine expert/sommelier who will offer all relevant information about the dishes and the chosen wines.

For the best experience, please make your reservation at least one day in advance of the event.

  • Welcome (Amuse bouche): "Manouri" cheese, breaded with mixed sesame seeds served on rocket with strawberry jellies.
  • “Dithiramvos”, a rose, dry wine from Louloudis winery, made of Liatiko variety - PGI Crete (75ml)
  • Salad: Mixed seasonal leaves with pumpkin seeds, raisins soaked in brandy, radish, and pomegranate seeds drizzled with balsamic, honey & pomegranate juice dressing.
  • “Malva de Crete”, a white, dry wine from Idaia winery, made of 100% Malvasia di Candia aromatica variety - PGI Crete (75ml)
  • Starter: Creamy, velvety, white tarama mousse with pistachio, olive oil and lemon juice.
  • “Kleftis”, a white, dry Assirtiko blend wine from Efrosini winery - PGI Crete (75ml)
  • Main Course: Tender beef set on sliced aubergine, with Graviera cheese from (PDO) Naxos island
  • “Petra SeCreta2”, an organic red, dry wine from Zoumberakis Estate, made of Kotsifali and Liatiko varieties - (75ml)
  • Dessert: Chocolate sponge cake with carob and almond powder and a smooth milk chocolate cream.
  • “Liastos”, an aged dessert wine from Karabitakis winery, made of the indigenous variety of Romeiko (40ml)

  • Welcome (Amuse bouche): Feta cheese wrapped in “kataifi” (shredded phyllo dough) baked in our wood oven. Drizzled with a rose geranium and watermelon sauce and poppy seeds.
  • “Dithiramvos”, a rose, dry wine from Louloudis winery, made of Liatiko variety - PGI Crete (75ml)
  • Salad: Seasonal par-boiled greens lightly sauteed with olive oil, spring onions and cherry tomatoes, finished with fresh lemon juice and served with Cretan ‘Galomizithra’ cheese.
  • Thrapsathiri variety, white, dry wine from Aggelakis winery (75ml)
  • Starter: Fresh mushroom stuffed with apaki and Cretan Gruyère cheese, in a crispy crust, served on homemade olive oil and truffle mayonnaise.
  • “Vilana Fume”, a white, dry wine from Minos - Miliarakis winery - PGI Crete (75ml)
